Japanese Curry Rice – Recipe Below…… INGREDIENTS Rice: 1 cup (250ml) short/medium grain white rice (see earlier video for cooking method) Curry: 250g chicken breast 1 small onion 1 tsp minced garlic 1/2 cup green peas (canned of frozen) 2-3 servings Golden Curry Sauce Mix (or similar) METHOD Cook the rice according to earlier recipe – youtu.be Add 1 tsp cooking oil and 1 tsp garlic to a saucepan Place on a medium to high heat and stir. Add the onions and stir. Add the chicken and stir for 2-3 minutes until the chicken is partly cooked. Add 1 1/2 cups of water. Bring to the boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for a few minute with a lid. Break off 2 or 3 blocks of curry and add them to the pan. Crush the blocks to help them break into a paste. Stir until the curry is well mixed. Add a little water if to acheive the desired thickness according to taste. Heat the peas in boiling water or the microwave. Serve placing the rice and curry side-by-side and add the peas on top. Serves 2 people. Note: If you mix the curry and the rice too much it is called Nekomamma (Cat Food).
