Bubbles is diabetic, we have to inject him twice a day with insulin when he eats. He lounges around all day doing nothing and is so easy to push around, as once you push him over he’ll give up and just lay down there until hes hungry and gets up for food.
Our pets, cats and dogs, are becoming obese and diabetic. Why are our dogs and cats getting fat? The food that we feed our cats and dogs is making them fat and unhealthy. This video is a review of the ingredients that are commonly found in dog and cat food. Like our processed food, you will find that most cat and dog food is filled with grains and starched. These are cheap carbohydrates that cause an insulin response in the body of the cat or dog. That insulin response creates fat storage. Popular advice for people who are overweight is for them to reduce their calories and exercise more. This simplistic approach won’t work with your favorite pet and would not result is weight loss for your cat or dog. It is natural to assume that the diet that you eat is healthy for your pet. The marketing of pet food plays on that false assumption, but your cat or dog was not designed to eat grain. In the wild your cat or dog would hunt and eat meat. Your can and dog need to eat a primal diet. That is your pet’s natural diet. Your goal should be to keep your pet’s food as close to their natural diet as possible. Look for a pet food that has no grains and is low in carbohydrates. That will result in your cat or dog not becoming obese and diabetic, but also in your pet being healthier overall. www.BryanMarcel.com

Raw food is just another form of extremism. It takes a very good idea: increased consumption of fruits and vegetables, and can take it too far. The reasons to follow an all-raw diet are just bad logic, and can cause great harm. The Raw Foods Website I used in the video: www.living-foods.com Cooking and human evolution: www.sciencedaily.com

When we hear sad stories from our patients, our mission is to bring hope back into their lives. That’s why Kathi Neace went above and beyond to help a diabetic patient who ended up in the emergency room one night with elevated blood sugar. It turns out his diabetic testing supplies were stolen and he couldn’t afford replacements. He was also very worried about his cat. After taking the time to hear this patient’s story that included the recent loss of both parents, Kathi bought the patient a new set of testing supplies along with plenty of food for his beloved pet. Kathi Neace may not be an actual saint, but to one patient and a hungry cat she came pretty close.

I have three cats, two dogs, a hedgehog, a bird, and 6 mice. I also have 5 hermit crabs that I share with my boyfriend, but those are back where I go to college in St. Louis. Here I’ll go ahead and type out all about them a bit… MY CATS I have a calio name Callie, she’s 15 years old and fat. We rescued her when she was sick in a shelter and going to be put down. I also have a tabby named Jasmine, who is 18 years old. We found her in an Applebee’s parking lot, and couldn’t find her previous home so we just kept her. I also recently got a third cat that I named Moby. She’s less than a year old, and like Jasmine just showed up at our house, we couldn’t find her home, and kept her instead of taking her to the pound. We never planned on more than two cats, so as soon as I move out I’m being “forced” to take Moby with me. MY DOGS I have two dogs, a Labrador named Sophie and a Mutt named Hugo. Sophie developed diabetes as a puppy, and my father (who is also diabetic) wanted to put her down. I fought him on it, learned how to give insulin shots, and now she is taking insulin every morning and night. Hugo was from Petsmart shelters, and was possibly abused before going into the shelter because he was very timid and afraid of a lot of people. We worked on him and now he is a happy dog of 5 years of age! MY MICE Here’s the deal. I went to a pet store to pick up some things for my dogs or cats or something, and saw this tiny cage with about 50 mice in it, crawling over the dead …
